Pretzel Ghosts!

Pretzel Ghosts!

I just love creative Halloween treats! These are white chocolate coated mini pretzels with mini chocolate chips for the eyes! I saw a similar idea as this one but it was for pretzel pumpkins! Just use orange colored melting chocolate and use a green M & M candy, at the top, for a stem. See that recipe here. My hubby saw the pumpkin version and told me to make ghosts instead! So that's how this idea came about!

Caramelized Onion Jam

Caramelized Onion Jam

Oh, let me tell you...this is some kind of wonderful, yes it is! Sing it with me!!! I can totally eat this whole bowl of onion jam ALL by myself! Did I say I CAN...I meant I HAVE eaten it all by myself!  It's kind of a small bowl. ..well, not really, but that's what I always tell myself. Everyone that I've served this to has loved it just as much as I do!

Watermelon Dippers!

Watermelon Dippers!

It's watermelon season so I'm always looking for ways to serve this naturally sweet fruit! I love serving it this way because it's fun to dip and I love the contrast of the creamy, tangy dip with the cold, sweet watermelon! It's just perfect!

A Healthier Easter Treat!

This cute little candy bird nest is made from 'Fiber One'  original bran cereal and melted chocolate. These are so easy to make! My kids loved them! This recipe makes about 8-10 nests that are about 3" x 2" diameter each.

Banana Dogs

Banana Dogs
I know this looks and sounds very strange but it was surprisingly good! I found this recipe on my favorite cooking site, Allrecipes.com. This seems to be a very popular meal because I've seen it posted MANY times on Pinterest. I've eaten bananas with peanut butter, but I never thought to put it on a hot dog bun and add jelly! Check out some of the reviews on this recipe**here**.

So be adventurous and try this for yourself...or try it out on a small child! Either way it's worth a try!

No Eggs, No Milk, Banana Bread!

That's right!!! I didn't think it was possible, so I tried it! You know what? It is possible...and it's delicious!!! Below is my photo of the banana bread. It was moist and very flavorful! But the best part is how quick and easy it is too...not to mention low fat! The only change I made was to add a splash of pure vanilla extract to the batter. This recipe is from a cook named Pam Wilson McNicol...thank you Pam!

Pumpkin Pie Dip

Pumpkin Pie Dip
I love all things pumpkin flavored such as cookies, smoothies, latte's, muffins and now dip! I think this is a genius idea! It's so quick to make...no cooking required! Just mix all the ingredients together and chill until ready to serve! Then dig in to this heavenly creamy pumpkin dessert with your favorite cookies or crackers. I used graham crackers at first. Then I tried this dip with unsalted saltine crackers. Both were very good, but I think I liked the unsalted crackers better because the graham crackers were a little too sweet with this dip.

I found my new favorite pumpkin creation on a food blog called...

Bacon Grilled Cheese Roll Ups - Baked

This is for all the grilled cheese lovers out there! Another fun way to make a classic grilled cheese sandwich, but with an added bonus of crispy bacon! I think this would also be great served as horderves at parties! Now, I know that grilled cheese sandwiches are usually 'grilled', hence the name, but...

These cookies are perfect, quick, easy, delicious, healthy and guilt free! Not to mention that they are soft, bite sized little cuties...Only about an inch and a half in diameter! So fun to just pop into your mouth! Goes so well with a glass of cold milk or a cup of hot coffee/tea.

Meatball Parmesan Dip

Meatball Parmesan Dip
This is the kind of dip that makes you want to just keeping eating it until it's all gone! But at parties that is frowned upon! And if you love meatball hero's but hate how messy they are to eat, you're going to love this dip! The only messy part is when you start licking the plate clean after it's all gone...another thing that is frowned upon at parties!

I served this with very thinly sliced, toasted, italian bread. Just lay out all the slices on a cookie sheet and put it under the broiler for about 3 minutes. Keep an eye on it because the bread browns quickly during the last 30 seconds. This recipe is perfect for 4 people but can easily be doubled.

New York City Style Game Day Food!

Photo taken from the top of the Empire State Building
Okay, let me start by saying I'm not a sports fan at all...gasp! But I do love going to those game day parties to munch on great finger foods! My hubby is a huge sports fan and he told me that this year the football game is all about New York! YAY...I'm a New Yorker, so now I have two things in common with 'The Big Day'...great food and my state! I currently live in the suburbs of NY, but it's only a one hour drive to the city. We go there often and love all the fun things to do in NYC. But the best part for me is the amazing food! One of my favorite New York City foods is a push-cart hot dog with onions from the hot dog vendors on the streets of Manhattan. You can find them on just about every corner! I decided to re-create those hot dog onions in my own kitchen! I tried many different ingredients until I was able to get the exact taste of the NYC hot dog onions that I crave and love!

3 Ingredient Soft Pretzel Bites

3 Ingredient Soft Pretzel Bites

I never knew that you could make soft pretzels just by taking some Pillsbury refrigerated French bread dough, cut into small pieces and dipped into boiling water with some baking soda. Then all you have to do is sprinkle the tops with coarse salt and bake until very brown! These were perfect! What a cool recipe! So much quicker and easier than making the dough from scratch!
