Chili Stroganoff

Chili Stroganoff

I enjoy making other peoples recipes more than trying to create my own! Although sometimes I end up tweaking someone's recipe so much that it becomes a totally different recipe! I call that a 'Super Tweak'...sounds like 'Super Freak' doesn't it? Now try to get that song out of your head!

Copycat Ikea Swedish Meatballs

Copycat Ikea Swedish Meatballs

I'm not a huge fan of Ikea furniture because it's just not my style...too minimalist for me! But I am a huge fan of their meatballs! Ikea not only sells furniture but they also have an amazing restaurant in their stores where they serve these meatballs! Check it out *here*

Pot Roast with a Dijon Cream Sauce

Pot Roast with a Dijon Cream Sauce
This is a recipe that I saw floating around Facebook. What caught my eye about this pot roast recipe was the cream sauce. I've never made a pot roast with a cream sauce, but I loved that idea.

Mexican Steak Soup

Mexican Steak Soup
As the weather gets cooler I start to crave soups and stews! But I get bored with the usual soup recipes, so I decided to change things up a bit and make a steak version of my favorite Chicken Tortilla Soup recipe. This worked out just how I wanted! I love the tender pieces of stew meat soaking in the cumin/chili flavored beef broth along with the crunchy whole baby corn, black beans, onions, garlic and salsa! Topping it with the shredded cheddar cheese is a must! This soup has tons of Mexican flair! You'll really feel like you went south of the border for this meal!

Or Gyro Burgers...or Greek Gyro Burgers! I wasn't sure what to name this delicious creation! How I came up with this one was to just take my favorite Greek Gyro Recipe and tweak it into a burger version!

Meatball Hero on a Stick

Meatball Hero on a Stick

This is such a fun idea! Also, delicious of course! Oh, and very easy to make because the meatballs are skewered onto the sticks while raw! So everything is baked in about 15 minutes!

Greek Gyros

Greek Gyros

I love seasoned meat that is roasted(or grilled), juicy and sliced thin. Then when you add a creamy, tangy, feta cheese dressing and some fresh chopped veggies like onions, lettuce and tomatoes...well, I'm in heaven! Neatly wrap it in some soft flatbread and you have the perfect gyro!

Philly Cheese Steak Spaghetti

Philly Cheese Steak Spaghetti

I love making classic recipes with a new twist! This worked perfectly! This tastes just like a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with spaghetti instead of a hero roll. Use wheat pasta if you're looking to cut down on carbs.

A Neater Sloppy Joe!

Sloppy Joe Egg Rolls

I love Sloppy Joe's except for the sloppy part! So I decided to make them into egg rolls! It worked great! It's less sloppy when it's wrapped up!

Easy Oven Smoked Steak! No Wood Chips Needed!

There's nothing more satisfying than the taste of freshly barbecued steak on a grill. But sometimes it's just not convenient to barbecue outdoors! Well here's a recipe for those days when you cannot use your outdoor grill. Its easy! No wood chips involved!  Just steak plus 5 simple ingredients! And it tastes like you grilled it! I've made this many times! Serve with some potatoes and a green veg of your choice...it's that easy! This recipe was posted on the Internet by a cook named Annieamie. The photo is my own.

Meatloaf Muffins!

Lots of my food friends have been making these cute little meatloaf muffins, so I decided to give it a try! You know what? I think I'll make my meatloaf like this from now on because it's so much easier to make and serve in these individual muffin shapes! And I just love the fact that the mashed potatoes are ontop of each meatloaf. I poured brown gravy over the mashed potatoes just before serving! My family loved these! You can use your favorite meatloaf and mashed potato recipe. Below is the meatloaf recipe I used.

Update!

I recently found out that I'm a winner in the Chef Boyardee recipe contest! I mentioned that contest in a recent blog post. I almost gave up on that contest, thinking I would never win! Well, I'm so glad I didn't give up because I finally won in week #7 with my SloppyRoni Sliders recipe! I re-entered the recipe that week and won a $500 Amex gift card and $75 worth of free food items from ConAgra foods! At the end of the 10 weeks, all 10 winners will be entered for a chance to win the grand prize...1 years worth of free groceries($100 per week) at the store of your choice!

Now the voting begins for the Chef Boyardee recipe contest!
I'm not going to be asking for votes because I feel like I already won just by making it into the finals! I wanted to show you what a great job the photographer did in recreating my original photo! Here's is the photo that I shot along with their photo.

I thought I did a great job until I saw their version...
