Yes, this is another one that I found on Pinterest...I know, I stalk that site way too much! I just love finding these kinds of fun recipes! This drink is so easy to make! It's just red fruit punch, blue Gatorade and diet lemon/lime soda.
The way this works is that the ingredient with the most sugar stays on the bottom and the one with no sugar stays on top. Gatorade doesn't have as much sugar as the fruit punch, so it stays in the middle! How cool is that...and it tastes really good too!
I'm definitely making this every chance I get! I know my guests would love it...kids and adults!
What kind of fruit punch did you use? And you said diet lemon/lime soda....would you suggest 7up or sprite?
ReplyDeleteI used Apple & Eve fruit punch, but any kind would work as long as it contains sugar. And any Diet lemon/lime would be fine...I used the Weight Watchers brand because it was on sale at the time. But use what ever is your favorite.
DeleteDoes it have to be diet?
ReplyDeleteYes, because it can't have any sugar or it will not stay on top! Maybe you could sub club soda for the diet soda? Or maybe even water?
DeleteBut - How does it taste???
ReplyDeleteAs written, its very good! Slightly sweet and fruity with a little fizz! =)
DeleteCan u put regular soda in the middle and Gatorade on top so it red white then blue?
ReplyDeleteNo, that won't work...one of the liquids must be sugarless or it won't have the three seperate color bands. Sorry! Thanks for checking it out! =)
DeleteOh OK thanks for responding
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome! I hope you'll try it! =D
DeleteSprite Zero is the best tasting no sugar lemon lime soda on the market that's what I would use
ReplyDeleteYes, that would work just fine! Thanks for checking it out Kutedymples! =D
DeleteVery clever...I never knew that the sugar content caused the separation of colors. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis was a fun drink to serve! Kids and adults loved this!
